42 days... or less!

I had another sonogram today and everything looks great with baby and me. My fluid retention has gone down from 95th percentile to 60th percentile. That's in the normal range. High-normal, but still normal!

Katie has grown in percentile fro the 74th percentile to the 80th percentile now! She's 5 lbs 2 oz already and measuring ahead of schedule. She's now looking like her due date is more like September 29.

So far, we're still planning to induce on Oct 1st if she's not here yet, but I think my dr feels like she'll be here before that. So that's only 6 weeks or less!

We went to Home Depot tonight and got a fan with a light (and dimmer) for her room and some paint. That's Andy's project this weekend. It's crazy to think time is running out so quickly! I can't wait to see Katie!

Andy's Latest Injury

Well, he was so helpful up at school on Sunday. As soon as we left school, we went to his 1st men's soccer game for the fall season. I'm not sure how it happened, but right after the game started, I saw him on the ground grabbing his leg, in obvious pain. We think he either tore or pulled a calf muscle really bad. Although, reading up on the internet, it sounds like it could possible be an achilies pull or something. He kept describing it as the feeling of a pop and like someone shot him in the back of his calf. That's how a muscle tear is described online so there's a good chance it's torn and not just pulled.

For a muscle tear, everything we found on the internet said all you can do is ice and heat and it can take 2 months for it to fully heal. There goes fall soccer.

It's been 2 days and it's still hurting him pretty bad. At least he can walk... with a pretty good limp. Between his leg injury and my pregnancy aches, I'm sure we're quite a site to see when we're both walking, or should I say... wobbling, together!

My Hubby is the Best!

Since I'm pregnant and not supposed to climb on ladders, Andy spent 3 hours up at school with me Sunday afternoon doing my big bulletin boards and the stuff that's too high for me to reach. He did such a good job I had to brag on him a little bit. See the clouds on the top one... it was Andy's idea to make them puffy! So cute. Who know he had that creativity in him. :) And then going around the doors with butcher paper is such a pain to do, but he did it for me and it looks great. Thanks Andy! I love you!

Fireworks at our House

Today they had OzzFest right by our house. Apparently they have a fireworks show at Ozzy Osbourne concerts because I just heard something like thunder outside. I opened the patio door to see if it looked like it's going to rain and I saw fireworks! Our neighbors were outside with their kids watching too.

Katie's coming soon!

Well, I went to the dr yesterday and asked if he expects Katie to come early since she's in the 74th percentile for size, I'm borderline diabetes, and in the 95th percentile for fluid retained... all of which I think can contribute to an early labor. He said he will definately want to get her out of there about a week or week and a half early. So we've set Oct 1 (not the 8th) to induce unless of coarse, something changes between now and then.

I go back in 2 weeks for another sonogram so they'll be able to tell me then if my fluid is gone down and if they're still wanting to induce on Oct 1!

That's only 8 weeks away! I can't believe it's getting so close!

We went to our 1st Prepared Childbirth class last night. That was fun. It's 3 classes. The next one will be really interesting. That's when we're going to really go through the whole labor and delivery process!

Oh yeah, and he said since I'm doing so good with my diabetes diet and my bloodsugar hasn't been high, I don't have to go back to the dietician. I still have to watch my diet and monitor my bloodsugar, but if it goes up (which has only happened after breakfast), I just need to change what I'm eating. But I can kind of monitor that at home rather than going to the dietician (who I didn't like.) I feel 100% better about all that now.

The Magic Hanky

If you've never heard this before, it is SO sweet. This was the point of my shower when I cried (and I think a lot of other people did too!) The bonnet came with the poem.

The Magic Hanky
-
"I'm just a little hanky, as square as square can be,
But with a stitch or two, they make a cap of me.
-
I'll be worn home from the hospital
or on Christening Day.
then I'll be carefully pressed
and neatly packed away.
-
For Her Wedding, so we've been told,
Every well-dressed Bride
should have that something old.
-
So what could be more fitting
than to find little me,
A few stitches snipped
and a wedding hanky I'll be.
-
And if per chance, it is a boy,
someday he'll surely wed.
So to his bride he can present
the hanky once worn upon his head."

Wubba Nub

My sister said these pacifiers are always her babies favorites. They use them at the hospital but they're hard to find in the stores. I think she found this at Samplehouse and Candleshop with the stuffed animal attached. Adorable!

My Louisiana Shower

This weekend I went to Louisiana for a baby shower and I had a wonderful time. I got to see lots of friends and family that I haven't seen in a long time. They did some reall cute things for me, Andy, and Katie. They had newborn diapers for people to sign a fun message on for all those stinky diaper changes. They girls did this at my 1st shower too and I love the idea!

On the center of the horsd'ouvre table, they had an adorable stroller pinata for people to write notes for me, Andy, and Katie to read while we wait on her arrival.

And then one of my favorites... my sister-in-law is letting me use her beautiful pink and yellow toile bassinet. I absolutely love it. It can make you cry it's so sweet! She set it up at the shower and that's where they put the gifts.

I can't wait to put everything up in her room. We got SO many gifts! I am so thankful for everyone's generosity. We even got our stroller and car seat!
