Katie Update

Katie's growing up fast too.  I'm so proud of the girl she's going into.

We went shopping and she saw this across the parking lot.  She said, "Look mom, a tower.  Is that where the princess lives?"  LOL  So funny.

Katie's been learning The Lord's Prayer lately.  She's more than half way through learning it all.  :)

She got her 1st bout of hives.  We don't know what they came from but she crawled into bed with me and Andy at 4:30.  She never sleeps in our bed so when she asked I said ok.  But then she kept itching and bumping into me and I couldn't sleep.  After about an hour of her keeping me up, I kicked her out of our bed and she only made it to our door before she stopped to itch some more.  I went to carry her to her room, and that's when I noticed her legs had whelps all over them.  I felt bad for telling her to stop itching when I realized she had the hives (of coarse I didn't know at the time what they were.)  By the time she woke up, they were gone but we kept her home anyway to make sure they didn't come back and they did.  During her nap and again at night.  This time I took pictures and it was all over her back and face too.  Poor thing.  She was SO itchy.  The next morning they were so much better but Andy took her in to the doctor anyway.  By the time she got there, they were gone again, but Andy showed her doctor the pictures I took and he immediately knew they were hives.  We gave her Zyrtec and they never came back.

Our little problem solver...  Those are play doh scissors though so they didn't open her cerial.

She enjoys her dentist and does great there.  I love their office.  Everyone is very friendly and they have cartoons playing on tvs on the ceiling so she can watch while they're checking her teeth.  Genius!

Katie's little dance friend, Melanie.

We got Katie's dance recital costume this week and it's adorable!

Here's a little preview of her recital dance...

Buggy silliness...

I love her to pieces!

Outside fun.  The weather was perfect.

Thank you Lindsay for this cute, cute video of her birthday party. I love it. You're so talented.

After the party and naps we went to The Cheesecake Factory with Mimi, Pop, and Aunt Becky for dinner.  Hannah was worn out.  It was a great day.

Happy birthday sweet Hannah.  Mommy, Daddy, and Katie love you more than words can say.

New Swingset

We've wanted a swingset for the girls for a long time so this year we got one for Hannah's birthday.  With an April birthday it's the perfect time of the year to get one and the girls LOVE it!  Andy put it all together by himself.  He wins the best daddy of the year award because his shoulder started hurting about a month before he built this.  He fought through the pain so he could have it done for Hannah's birthday then found out later that he has a bone spur and needs physical therapy.  :(

Here's the eyesore in our yard we had to work with.  The previous owners leveled out this part of our yard for a trampoline and we've never known what to do with that spot in the yard.  The wooden beams were mostly there.  Andy added the long one separating the dirt and grass.

He put some cinder blocks down for support.  Those were a pain to position just right and make sure they were all level.

We added some woodchips.

And then the building began.  Andy didn't think it would be a big deal to build on his own until he opened the directions and the TONS of little parts.  The pages showing here were just stage 1 of like 26 or something.  And every stage had this many parts to it.

This was my contribution... I sorted the pieces and put them in number and alphabetical order so they were easy to find when we needed them.

Andy worked day...

and night.

He even worked on it in his work clothes some afternoons before dinner.

And a LOT over the weekend.

Making progress....  At this point, Katie still didn't know what he was making.  I asked her and she said Daddy is building a house.

And done!

We will have to figure something out when Hannah grows out of that baby swing and there's that big wooden bar under her swing.  But it works for now and it's a huge hit!  They love it!

Thank you Andy for all your hard work putting this together for them!  We love you!
