Say Cheese?

We got back Katie's 1st Professional pictures this week. They took school portraits a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't get her to smile for them. Daddy's much better at that than I am. They still turned out cute though.

So these inspired me to try my own. I have this bowl that I envisioned would make really cute pictures. I've been waiting for her to be able to sit up well. After she started sitting I forgot about it for a while and now that I finally got around to it, the bowl doesn't look so big anymore. Oh well, not the way I pictured them in my mind, but I thought these were cute anyway.

Andy thinks she looks like she's playing football in this one. Ha!

Fluttering Butterflies

We've been growing caterpillars for the last couple of weeks at school. They hatched from their chrysalids last week but when we tried to release them Friday, they would not leave their butterfly garden. I tried nudging them with my finger, scrunching up the cage, poking them from the side of the cage and they just would not budge. I don't know if it was the weather or what so I told my kids I would bring them home and try again when it wasn't rainy.

So Saturday morning we let them go and watched to see what Katie would do when she saw them. She didn't notice them at first. There were too many people out there for her to look at. Mimi, Pop, and Becky were all there with Andy and me. She finally saw one and tried to grab it. Very cute. :)

Growing Like a Weed

Cheesy title, I know but couldn't help it.
Katie had her first trip to the Arboretum this weekend. It was a great day for the Arboretum. It was overcast so it didn't get too hot. A little humid, but not too bad. Here are my favorite pictures from the day.

Happy Easter!

Katie checking out all her goodies in her easter basket.

In her Easter dress ready for church.

We went to La Hacienda for lunch and Andy let her taste his lemon.
I don't think she likes lemons!
Playing with the Easter grass was just as fun as all the toys in the basket.

This little tube was filled with hair stuff.
Katie's 1st pony tail. (It's hard to see with the dark end table behind her. I took 3 pictures from different angles and this was the best one I got. Apparently we have a lot of dark brown in our living room.
Her new favorite noise. She does this all the time and loves to listen to herself. So cute. I love it!
Just hanging out and playing this afternoon.

I finished her 6 month footprint plate. I did a 3 month one and plan to do a 9 month and 1 year. Maybe an 18 month too because there are still 3 more designs I really like and want to do. So far I don't think her footprints look bigger than her 3 month ones.

Opening Day

Today Katie went to her 1st Rangers game and she did great. It was a huge pain packing everything up to take her out there. It was windy and cold this morning so we layered her and brought lots of blankets, hat, jacket, gloves, etc. We didn't even need most of it. she took a couple of naps in my arms. Slept right through all the music and cheering. The only noise that woke her up was the "fly over" of the bombers during the National Anthem. Those are SO loud! Here are some pictures from the day.
Oh yeah, and her daycare had "school pictures" today too. I took her up there this morning to get her picture taken. We should have them back in just 2-3 weeks. I think they turned out cute. I can't wait to see them!

6 month update

Last Monday Katie had her 6 month check up and she's doing great. She's 15lbs and 14oz now (50-60%). She has an ear infection in both ears but you would never know that. She's taking some medicine for that and I think it's better now.

Some things she's doing now:

* Dr. G said to start introducing the sippy cup to her. So far she's not interested.

* We also got the go ahead to start veggies and fruits. She still has oatmeal and barley cereal to try so it will be a couple of weeks before we get to the veggies. I can't wait! She loves her rice cereal and eats that really well. I bet she'll be really happy when we get to some foods with more flavor to them.

* sitting up on her own really well

* trying to stand- she can do it if I help her grip onto something and hold on to just one hand

* getting ready to crawl- I wouldn't call it crawling yet, but she slowly inches her way around when she's on her tummy for a while

* cooing, giggling, smiling, etc all the time

* She almost fits in her jumparoo now. I only have to put a couple of blankets under her for her feet to touch. She's more interested in the toys on it now and has started to jump in it.

* She loves the exersaucer. We don't have one... (we're getting one at the end of the month), but she LOVES the one at daycare!
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at 1:30 in the morning. :)

Here's a picture of her playing on the rag quilt I made for her. Yes, you heard me right... I made that. I just finished it today.
And here's her new shower curtain, bathroom rug, and towels I bought today. I think they're so cute (even though when I found out I was having a girl I said I wasn't going to do any "princess" stuff.)
