7+ months and 103.8!

It's been way too long since I've blogged and so much has happened. Katie turned 7 months old. Some things she's doing now... she loves to blow bubbles, she loves to grab her feet (especially when I'm changing her diaper), she loves her exersaucer, and she's eating veggies now. So far we've tried rice cereal, oatmeal, barley cereal, green beans, peas, and squash. She loves them all and eats really well except for the peas. She literally gags when she eats those and tries her hardest not to swallow them. It's so funny. I need to get it on video and post that too. :) This weekend we start carrots! Oh and she's also officially moved up to the next class at daycare. She loves it in there. There's more going on in that room with babies crawling and pulling up on things so she doesn't nap well in there. She wants to be up in the middle of everything!

We went to Louisiana a couple of weekends ago to visit Memaw and Papaw and Katie's cousins, uncle and aunt, great aunt and friends. We had lots of people to see. We got in town at midnight and Katie was in a great mood. She stayed up talking and playing until 1:30 but then she woke up crying every hour that night. I couldn't get her to sleep on her own so she ended up sleeping in bed with me. She woke up in the morning with a fever... 1st time she's had a fever over 100. After Tylenol and Motrin it kept rising to 102.6. We took her to a doctor friend of ours and he couldn't find anything wrong. Must have been a virus. She woke up Sunday morning and it was gone. We still enjoyed visiting with family and friends even though Katie was sick and fussy all day. At least everyone got to hold her a lot!

Baby Emily's birthday was on Saturday while we were in Louisiana with my family. We had a candle burning in her memory all day next to her picture.

We love you and miss you Emily!

When we got back in town, it all started over again on Tuesday. This time her fever went up to 103.8! Poor baby! We took her to her dr here and they ran all sorts of tests. They had to do a cathater to check for a urinary tract infection (negative), swabbed her for the flu(negative... right in the middle of the huge swine flu scare!), and pricked both of her big toes for a Complete Blood Count to check for phemonia (negative.) All this while she had such a high fever and felt horrible. When they finished all that they said it was probably just a really badd virus or maybe 2 separate viruses. Again, woke up the next morning and it was all gone and has stayed gone for more than a week. But we got a bonus weight check... 16lbs 8 oz just a few days after 7 months old.

I have too many pictures to post so I made a slideshow. Enjoy!
